That's pretty cool, im assuming your 2d mmo engine is along the lines of mirage source or vbgore?

Well I've been programming for 10 or so years now, but the most important lesson i learned was that in programming, coding practice doesn't make you that much better. What makes you better is the theory, the computer sciences. I think 95% of my programming skill came in the last year or so when i realised this, and I've been cramming like crazy because there was so much stuff I've realised i haven't been learning.

Also learning multiple languages and paradigms is important. About 2 years ago i only knew VB, Flash and PHP. Now i know around 15 different languages. They all solve different problems in different ways, but sometimes you can bring knowledge from one language and implement it in another.

Anyways, I'm starting the prototype of the new game right now in Java and OpenGL, so it will still be browser based (started yesterday ). I've done other 3d browser based stuff in Java before so ill be working a bit off that. Because its OpenGL the graphics should be blazingly fast (faster than DirectX8) for the stuff that im doing.

Of course i will be making my own engine, as there is no engine that quite fits my requirements for this game.

The animephantom game you wanted to play, was done in Flash. But the Flash renderer is just too damn slow for my liking, that's why I'm switching it to Java. Although for the turn-based game flash should be ok, but if i were to implement an RPG element into it, flash would be no good.

The new game will be similar to this style (prototyped in Flash). Theres a much much newer version, but i never made a video on it so yeh.

U know what the funny part of that video is? it looks like u are using like, Xtremeworlds (the thing i use) Im pretty pro at that program with the scripting now, but i noticed urs isnt the same. Whats the name of the engine if i may know? :O

He programmed it from scratch it has no name that is unless he decides to name it.
